Reverse Merger Information

Reverse Mergers are also known as “alternative public offerings”, "shell mergers", "reverse takeovers", "stock for stock exchanges", or “triangular mergers”. These transactions are alternatives to the traditional initial public offering (IPO).

Brief History of Reverse Mergers

Although Reverse Mergers have been around since the 1970s, the industry has exploded in growth in the last few years as Reverse Merger and Private Investment in Public Equity (PIPE) conferences have brought many industry participations together for the first time, as the SEC rules and regulations have become more accommodating and as financing groups have pushed to get their abundant amounts of capital to work “now” rather than waiting for the longer time frames associated with a traditional IPO.

Some Well-Known Companies Who Completed Reverse Mergers

Many well-known companies have gone public through reverse mergers including Berkshire Hathaway Inc., Turner Broadcasting, Texas Instruments Inc., and Blockbuster.
